Air leakage during singing is caused by insufficient closure of vocal folds
When we inhale, vocal folds are opened. Air then goes into our lungs. Vocal folds are closing while we speak or sing. So that while we exhale, air blown to the vocal folds making them to vibrate. A bright and firm voice is produced with sufficient closure of vocal folds. Air leakage during speaking or singing is caused by insufficient closure of vocal folds.
3 Steps to strengthen Chest Voice
1) Step 1:Checking the existence of Chest Voice
We can say "One Two Three Two One". Then produce the sound of "Ae", "Gee", "Goh". If you can clearly produce these sound. We can carry on to the following exercises.
